Job Title: Lighting Crew Chief / L1 / Project Manager

Primary Objective:

The Lighting Crew Chief / L1 / Project Manager is responsible for leading and crew chiefing lighting events for the company at various festivals, venues, tours, and special events.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:

Job Duties:

  • Project Manage Lighting events for the Company at various nationwide festivals, venues, tours, and special events.
  • Supervise pulling of the shows, quality control of gear on the event, and return of gear from the event.
  • Manage and update event paperwork with management, including asset software and lighting plots for your assigned projects.
  • Work to complete cable, rigging, power plots and set up final equipment lists for prep.
  • Manage all assigned projects for Lighting/Video system prep/design/paperwork.
  • Assist in all Lighting/Video Company related event equipment prep where needed.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed lighting design and plotting for pertaining shows.
  • Supervise staff of Lighting/Video Department technicians onsite at any event. Must be able to manage efficiently and effectively while maintaining positive morale and a proactive fast paced work environment.
  • Supervise the repair of Lighting/Video equipment onsite at the event.
  • Onsite supervision of staff of lighting/video technicians on all Lighting/Video, prepping, rigging and power system capabilities and general usage.
  • Supervise the truck pack and transportation of all related Lighting/Video equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all regulations required for the safe use of all related electrical, Lighting/Video and rigging equipment be met and maintained concerning all federal and O.S.H.A. requirements.
  • To participate in the warehouse on-call management rotation and be available to make each show happen no matter what it takes.
  • Check In & Out equipment with the Warehouse during event prep/ deprep. Give final lists to Warehouse & Management for updating in rental software.
  • Help technician when locating Company assets for prep.
  • Festivals, tours, one-offs, weekend, corporate or any applicable Company event.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Must know Wysiwig &/or Vectorworks
  • Preferred Master Electrician skill set
  • 5-10 years in the touring, concert, event industry
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to navigate most situations
  • Strong technical knowledge

Other duties as may be assigned.
