Job Title: Lighting Technician – L2
Primary Objective:
This position is responsible for traveling to events, set up, work, and tear down and prep/deprep events in the warehouse. Lighting operation experience is a plus but not necessary, as this job is mostly a master electrician track.
Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to understand and navigate event paperwork, lighting plots, fixture schedules, prep sheets, and inventory control paperwork.
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively while maintaining positive morale in a fast paced warehouse.
- Must have knowledge of repairing lighting equipment according to the manufacturer guidelines.
- Work with shop staff on all aspects of lighting systems (power runs) including rigging and general usage.
- Ability to read and understand detailed lighting design and plotting for pertaining shows.
- Load/ Unload gear for transportation of all related lighting/video equipment to the event.
- Prep all assigned projects for lighting events thru the use of Brown Note processes and procedures.
- Work with Lighting- L1’s and help them to complete cable, rigging, power plots and set up final equipment for them to review.
- Works festivals, tours, one-offs, weekend, corporate or any applicable Company event as required or assigned.
- Work with the appropriate leads in the Visual Department and Warehouse departments for the company, pulling of shows, quality control of gear, return of gear.
- Must be willing to learn new skills, learn video, and be an all around team player
- Assist in any Company related event equipment prep where needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma preferred
- 3+ years in the touring, concert, event industry preferred
- Must be actively learning rigging and electricity.
- Strong technical and communication skills and ability to retain information
