Primary Objective:
Video Technician is responsible for leading and supporting the video productions. V1’s are considered to be in the Advanced stages of the technician ladder and generally work under little to no supervision from Department Managers. V1’s are tasked with beginning to lead and direct crews as well as event prep and execution.
Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Department Manager to generate, understand and navigate event paperwork
- Provides some direction and works with shop staff on all lighting/video, prepping, rigging and power system capabilities and general usage.
- Works with office staff to get event binders complete.
- Load/ Unload transportation of all related lighting/video equipment.
- Must be able to assist and lead a crew to accomplish successful events.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Prep:
- Leads the Preparation of all assigned projects for Video events
- Leads staff to complete cable, rigging, power plots and set up final equipment.
- Assist in any Company related event equipment prep where needed.
Event:
- Leads and works festivals, tours, one-offs, weekend, corporate or any applicable Company event as required or assigned.
Knowledge/Skills:

- Software Knowledge:
- Arkaos: Build Library’s and sync with consoles and setup video Mapper
- LED Studio, Ability to configure video walls.
- Hardware Knowledge
- Video Product Types
- Different Resolutions: How to scale each type
- Different Manufacturers: How each product mounts, How each Product Wires
- Motors, Truss, and Rigging
- Understanding of how to use rigging and call and mark points, Ability and Understanding of how to use Use Chain Motors (including basic maintenance and field service), How different types of truss work and how to maintain
- Comprehensive knowledge of how to setup Feeder: To a Local service and Generator including setting up voltages.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BNP Equipment set up
- Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Servicing
- How to Maintain Video: Replace, Repair, Clean and Test Panels
- Splitters and Cable: Repair Broken Parts
- Server Maintenance: Replace broken parts,Update and install software, Clean Surface and Change Filters
- Cable Maintenance: BNP Wiring Diagrams, How to Test and Repair all Cable Types, How specialty cables are made.
- BNP Repair / Service Paperwork and procedures
- Asset Protection
- Event Knowledge:
- Ability to Run Media Servers or Tie in Video Sources
- Ability to Rescale Video walls to adapt to Event Needs
- Ability to Maintain Dimmer world
- Ability to interface additional desks into BNP systems
- Assist BNP and Local staff to produce Event

- Software Knowledge:
Experience Required:
- Advanced knowledge of video equipment operation
- Current with the latest lighting/video technology
- Working knowledge of video repair, programming, and operation.
- Advanced knowledge of rigging and electricity.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Must know Wysiwig & Vectorworks
- 5 – 10 years in the touring, concert, event industry
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft, Google products and R2.
Preferred Skills:
5 years minimum of experience in technical event operations and production.
