Primary Objective:

This position is responsible for managing projects of the Visuals (Lighting/Video) department and is responsible for leading and crew chiefing Visual (Lighting/Video) events for the company at various festivals, venues, tours, and special events. This position reports directly to the Visuals Production Manager.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:

Job Duties:

  • Project Manager Visuals (Lighting/Video/SFX) events for the Company at various nationwide festivals, venues, tours, and special events.
  • Supervise pulling of shows, quality control of gear, and return of gear.
  • Manage and update event paperwork, including asset software and client facing documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all regulations required for the safe use of all related electrical, Visuals (Lighting/Video) and rigging equipment be met and maintained concerning all federal and O.S.H.A. requirements.
  • Supervise staff of Visuals (Lighting/Video/SFX) Department technicians in the field.
  • Read, understand, and work with clients on detailed Visuals (Lighting/Video/SFX) designs and plots pertaining to shows.
  • Review and approve orders in keeping with company policy. Follow all Warehouse policies and procedures.

Prep:

  • Manage all assigned projects from pre-production through show to load out (system prep/design/paperwork/etc).
  • Work with Management to complete cable, rigging, power plots and set up final equipment lists for Management and Warehouse.
  • Assist team with event prep, sub hires, pick ups/deliveries, and returns with shop labor based on rental software and Warehouse scheduling.

Event:

  • Successfully oversee deployment of the projects in the field. Which may include Festivals, tours, one-offs, weekend, corporate or any other applicable company event.
  • Keep watch on the health of the team, working with local staff to get the team’s needs met, such as food and water.
  • Ability to operate lighting/video equipment during live show conditions.
  • Complete mandatory show specific reports and feedback forms.

Misc:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years in the touring, concert, event industry.
  • 7-10 years in supervising multiple technical people onsite.
  • Knowledge of LED and Video Walls/Rescaling Video Walls, Cameras, Media Servers, Networking, etc.
  • Preferred knowledge of Wysiwig & Vectorworks.
  • Preferred LSO (Laser Safety Officer) certification
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft, Google products and R2.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

FLSA Status : Exempt

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
